How to Apply DIY Lash Clusters Perfectly

Applying DIY lash clusters can feel tricky at first, but with the right prep and technique, anyone can master it. Here’s our step-by-step guide to help you achieve that flawless, fluttery lash look – no salon visit required.

Step 1: Prep Like a Pro
Before you begin, cleanliness is key. Make sure your eyelids and natural lashes are completely clean and free from excess oils or residue. This ensures better adhesion and longevity.

Don’t forget your tools: your tweezers should also be free from any leftover bond. If there’s any sticky residue, your clusters may cling to the tweezers instead of your natural lashes – a common beginner mistake!

Step 2: Get the Right Angle
To make application easier, place a mirror below your face and look down into it. This angle gives you a clear view of your lash line and eyelid.

Want to level up your lash game? Try gently lifting your eyelid using lash tape – just like the pros do in a salon. If you don’t have lash tape, a small strip of medical tape or even a plaster can do the job. The goal is to create a smooth, visible surface to work on.

Step 3: Apply Bond Carefully
Now it’s time for the bond. Less is more here. Gently apply a small amount of bond to the underside of your natural lashes, focusing only on the roots – not the full length. Think of it more like dotting, not brushing on mascara.

We recommend working section by section. This method helps keep your tweezers clean and avoids unwanted sticking – for example, if you’ve already applied bond to the outer or middle lashes, your tweezers might accidentally touch them while working on the inner corners, which can mess things up.

Applying bond in sections also allows just the right amount of time for the formula to get tacky – not too wet, not too dry.
Apply a tiny bit of bond directly to the lash cluster band and wait a few seconds until it gets tacky.

Step 4: Apply the Clusters
When placing the cluster, make sure it sits 1–2mm away from your waterline. If it’s too close, it can cause stinging or irritation.

For the most natural and seamless look, we recommend slightly overlapping each cluster. Avoid placing them too far apart, as visible gaps can ruin the illusion of full, fluffy lashes.

Step 5: Seal and Set
Once all your clusters are in place, it’s time to lock in your look. Apply a thin layer of sealer onto your tweezers, and use them to gently pinch your natural lashes and clusters together. This helps fuse them perfectly and makes the lash map look cohesive and long-lasting.

With these tips, you’re now ready to apply your DIY lash clusters like a pro. Practice makes perfect, and soon this routine will become your favourite beauty ritual.
